A vision for the future
A local Place Plan is being made for Jedburgh - a community-wide engagement to shape the town’s needs and aspirations for the future.
It is being led by the Jedburgh Town Team, a partnership of organisations and local interests that includes:-
Community Council
Community Trust
Tourism Alliance
Leisure Facilities Trust
Jethart Callant’s Festival
Rotary Club
Pupils from the Primary and
Grammar Campus
We see Jedburgh as a town and locality where
• People choose to live and visit
• We capitalise on the many successful and innovative projects
that have and are being developed in the town
• We develop a dynamic and ambitious town that
attracts inward investment for the benefit of all


What you have told us so far that need considered / addressed
Bring in new retailers to fill vacant premises
Discuss wider range of activities using Campus facilities
Improve bus services
Plant more trees, develop more green spaces and community allotments
Research opportunities to generate hydro power at Jed Water/caulds in the town
Improve cycle paths
Maintain walking paths
Improve safe road crossings in the town
Installation of CCTV
Develop a safe place for teenagers to meet
Make the town centre more pedestrian friendly
More live events in the town
Address the parking issues on the Canongate and High Street
Introduce a recycling depot to help with fly tipping and save folks having to travel to Kelso or Hawick depots
